Good Day Share Tables

Good Day Community Markets is about more than shopping. We also want to create simple ways for useful items to find new homes within the community.

At select markets, guests may find a Good Day Share Table featuring complimentary new or gently used items that have been carefully selected and organized around a specific theme.

Everything is free. No purchase, application, or income requirement is needed.

Who May Host a Share Table

A Good Day Share Table may be provided directly by Good Day Community Markets, hosted in partnership with a nonprofit or community organization, or operated by another approved individual, business, or group participating in the event.

The format may vary from market to market, but the purpose remains the same: to make useful items available to the community in a way that feels organized, respectful, and welcoming.

Good Day may also collaborate with organizations that already specialize in collecting or distributing certain types of items, allowing them to create a Share Table that fits their mission or area of expertise.

Any Share Table operating within a Good Day Community Market is expected to follow the event’s standards for quality, safety, presentation, and respect for participating vendors.

Open to Everyone

The Good Day Share Table is available to everyone at the market, including guests, vendors, market staff, and participating businesses.

You do not need to make a purchase or meet any special requirement to take something from the table.

If you see an item you can genuinely use or enjoy, you are welcome to take it.

Vendors are welcome to participate too. A vendor may find a book, household item, pet accessory, school supply, or other useful item they would like to take home.

The Share Table is intended to feel like a community resource, not a program limited to one particular group of people.

Good Day may place reasonable item limits on certain tables so more people have an opportunity to participate.

If you can use it, it is for you.

Curated, Not a Giveaway Pile

Good Day Share Tables are designed to feel organized, welcoming, and intentional.

Items may be new or pre-loved, but gently used items must be in excellent condition. We want everything on the table to feel like something you would be comfortable giving to someone you care about.

Items should be:

• Clean
• Complete
• Functional
• Free from stains or significant wear
• Safe to use
• Presentable enough to be enjoyed again

Items that do not meet Good Day’s standards will not be placed on the table.

Designed to Support, Not Compete With Vendors

Good Day Share Tables are intentionally planned so they do not compete with businesses participating in the market.

The Share Table is not meant to replace shopping or offer free versions of the same products vendors are actively selling.

Good Day will consider the vendor mix when selecting Share Table themes and items and may avoid, remove, or limit items that too closely overlap with participating vendors.

For example, if a vendor is selling handmade candles, a Share Table would not be used to offer a large selection of complimentary candles nearby. If vendors are selling children’s toys, a Kids & Family Share Table may focus more heavily on books, school supplies, puzzles, or other complementary items.

Whenever possible, Share Table items will be:

• Complementary to the vendor mix
• Different from products being actively sold nearby
• Limited in quantity
• Focused on useful community sharing rather than replacing purchases
• Adjusted based on the businesses participating at that particular market

If Good Day identifies a conflict between a Share Table item and a participating vendor, the vendor takes priority.

Our goal is for the Share Table to add value to the market while continuing to encourage guests to discover, support, and purchase from the small businesses around them.

Different Themes at Different Markets

Rather than displaying a random assortment of items, Good Day may feature one or two themed Share Tables depending on the market.

Themes may include:

Kids & Family

Books, puzzles, toys, games, art supplies, children’s bags, blankets, and other family-friendly finds.

Home

Baskets, décor, organizers, picture frames, mugs, household items, and useful pieces for the home.

Cozy

Blankets, scarves, beanies, warm accessories, and other comfort-focused items.

Books & Creativity

Books, journals, notebooks, stationery, craft supplies, coloring books, and creative materials.

Back-to-School

Backpacks, lunch bags, notebooks, pencils, folders, school supplies, and other classroom essentials.

Baby & Little Ones

Carefully selected baby and toddler books, blankets, toys, clothing, and other appropriate items in excellent condition.

Pet

Pet toys, bowls, blankets, leashes, accessories, and other pet-friendly items. Any food or treats offered must be sealed and within date.

Self-Care

New and unopened items such as soaps, lotions, journals, candles, hair accessories, and other simple self-care products.

Kitchen & Everyday

Dishes, kitchen tools, reusable containers, tote bags, organizers, and useful everyday items.

Holiday

Decorations, ornaments, wrapping supplies, seasonal pieces, and giftable items.

Career & Work

Planners, notebooks, folders, office supplies, professional accessories, laptop bags, and other useful work-related items.

Good Day Surprise

A rotating collection of useful, fun, or unexpected finds that may not fit into one specific theme.

Matched to the Market

Share Table themes may also complement the type of Good Day market taking place.

For example, a Mommy & Me market may feature Kids & Family and Baby & Little Ones tables. A Pet Lovers market may include a Pet Share Table. A holiday market may feature Holiday and Cozy items.

This helps make each Share Table feel connected to the people attending that particular event.

Take Something You Can Use

The purpose of the Good Day Share Table is simple: if you see something that would be useful, enjoyable, or meaningful to you, you are welcome to take it.

This applies whether you are attending as a guest, participating as a vendor, working at the market, or simply visiting.

Good Day may place reasonable item limits on certain tables so more people have an opportunity to participate.

Items are available while supplies last.

Restocked Throughout the Market

When possible, items may be placed out gradually rather than displaying everything at the beginning of the event.

This gives people arriving at different times an opportunity to discover something and helps keep the table organized and inviting throughout the market.

Community Contributions

At certain markets, Good Day, a participating nonprofit, or another approved Share Table host may invite members of the community to contribute appropriate items for future tables.

When contributions are accepted, items may be reviewed before being placed out.

Not every contributed item will necessarily be used. Items may be declined if they do not meet quality, safety, cleanliness, theme, or vendor-compatibility requirements.

No one is ever required to contribute something in order to take something.

Items We Do Not Accept

For cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation, Share Table hosts may decline items such as:

• Opened cosmetics or personal-care products
• Used undergarments
• Stained, damaged, broken, or heavily worn items
• Expired or opened food
• Items that cannot be appropriately cleaned
• Recalled products
• Unsafe baby or children’s products
• Items missing important pieces
• Anything determined to be unsuitable for community distribution

Separate From Good Day Freebies

Good Day Share Tables are separate from our Good Day Freebies program.

Through Good Day Freebies, Good Day purchases products, food, drinks, or other items from participating vendors at the market and provides them to guests.

Good Day Share Tables are focused on giving useful new or gently used items another opportunity to be enjoyed, whether the table is hosted by Good Day, a nonprofit, or another approved community partner.

Both programs are complimentary, but they serve different purposes.

Giving Useful Things Another Good Day

A book someone has finished can become someone else’s next favorite.

A toy that was outgrown can make another child excited.

A household item sitting unused can become something another person actually needs.

And sometimes the person who finds that item may even be one of the vendors spending the day working their own booth.

The Good Day Share Table is a simple way to share useful things within the community while still protecting and supporting the businesses that make the market possible.

Take what you can use. Share what still has something to give. Give something another Good Day.
